About
Mischa Merz began drawing and painting in 2003, studying with
acclaimed abstract artist Yvonne Audette and print maker Marco
Luccio. From 2004 to 2005 she was a student at the La Trobe
College of Art before being accepted into the Victorian College of the Arts
to begin a fulltime Bachelor of Fine Art degree majoring in
painting, which she is due to complete in 2009.
She has had two exhibitions at Red Gallery and her work has appeared at the Linden Postcard show, the
Walker Street Gallery prize, Trocadero and various student shows at the VCA.
She is interested in working from observation, responding to her environment and
interpreting what she sees. Her paintings are primarily figurative but also
include still life and landscape.
